Glitches and Such

I've tried to visit and leave comments on several blogs in the past little while, but any blog that requires a word verification isn't working. (Sorry Bobby and Charmie) I was able to leave a comment without problem on Forest's, but she doesn't require the captcha, but the others would say that the captcha was loading and it never loaded. I tried again and again, but no dice. I'll have to try again tomorrow since I need to spend a little time with Marcel before he heads off to bed for the evening.

He should have his laptop back tomorrow, since UPS tried to deliver it today and I didn't hear the bell. They left us a note in our mailbox saying that they'd come back tomorrow, and since neither of us will be home, he called and asked them to deliever it to his moms, which they happily agreed to do. We're both curious about what the exact problem was with his laptop, but at least he should have it in-house tomorrow. I have a feeling that the next couple of days will find me reinstalling programs on his computer.

Marcel and I were talking over dinner about an article I read regarding the top 10 European countries with the most overweight people. The first country he nailed without a problem, and he didn't guess one of the other 9.

Do you know?

Top 10 Fattest European Countries

1- Germany
2- United Kingdom
3- Cyprus
4- Czech Republic
5- Austria
6- Finland
7- Malta
8- Slovakia
9- Letland
10- Hungary

Coming in at number 21 was the Netherlands, and the least overweight of the European countries was a surprising Italy.

Having been to Prague this past spring and seeing how the Czech people eat, I'm actually surprised that they weren't higher up on the list than 4. We indulged in one traditional Czech meal while we were there, and it was obvious it was not for those watching their calorie or fat count. With that being said, it was delicious, but once was enough- I couldn't imagine eating that way daily.

Tomorrow afternoon I have an appointment with my stylist and not a moment too soon. My hair is a mess, and I'm hoping she can work her magic and have me looking human again.

My Gratitude List for February 23, 2009.

Today I'm Grateful For:

1- Sunshine- even though the visit was a short one.

2- Leftovers, which meant I didn't have to cook today, and that left time for other things- such as an afternoon walk with my favorite guy.

3- Security, in a world which seems so unstable at the moment.

4- Marcel's computer being back from the repair center.

5- Little things that bring great joy.

Aawwww! Bummer! Your comments are always day brighteners! :)

The only thing is . . .

I don't have a captcha requirement to comment on my blog. I didn't anyway, so I'm not sure what is up with that.

RE. Fat European Countries

Not long ago, there was a news article about what a joke the German military is. They have a high rate of overweight military personnel, and apparently, they are pretty soft in terms of how life in the field is for them too. I've seen a number of articles in UK papers online about obesity in the UK too.

Hope Marcel's laptop is all fixed up and working optimally for him!

*HUGS*

i hit the same glitch as you did on bobby's journal and was unable to leave a comment. have a favor to ask of you? how about sending me a blank e-mail to:

constipatedmonkey@live.com

gotta give you an update since we parted company on JS

at least when one writes here, it saves automatically! on JS the entire post would disappear altogether!

I sometimes also have issues leaving comments for the same reason. It seems a random problem also. Maggs

I've been having the same problem with trying to comment on some journals. I'm glad I don't have the captcha! oh, and I think it's only depends on what comment version people use (extra window or such... your captcha is showing).

Germans #1?? nope, I doubt that! I see some fat people around, but not THAT many to be number one!

And especially the German military is NOT fat at all! I have never seen a fat German soldier!

I think someone is just trying to make their own country look better! lol

I thought that it would have been a toss up between the Germans and the Brits for the most obese. I am surprised that the little pot-bellied Hungarians weren't higher up!

I couldn't leave comments either yesterday. I wasn't sure if it was the journal or my computer. I am glad to know it wasn't my problem.

I never would have guessed those countries!

It's working now, I think. I hope. earlier I had the same glitch, lol. They are probably making things nicer for all of us.

Oh! In the US, Michigan, along with several other midwest states, are recorded as being the most obese/overweight.

I know one thing: I'm in Florida and since I have more bucks in my banking account, I can eat normally now! I am not hungry like so many times before.

BUT: I did'nt have this darn ole belly fat or the 12 poundage accumulated, either!!!

Maybe the summer heat will sweat my fat off, lol! I do enought running arond so get plenty excercise.

re Dorrie's comment: I have never seen a fat German soldier, either! and look at you and your family! You are all lookin mighty fine!

Hope you and Marcel and MisterM have a lovely rest of the day/night! :)

*hugs*

Never heard of country no. nine. Where is it?

The Finns may be fat, but by and large they seem to be a pretty healthy lot.

I know how to solve the problem with the comments.

It took me quite some time to find out, but one of my dear fave's had a blog set up like that, so I tried and tried, until I found out that you have to:

1. select Google blogger/Google account

2. then you move up to the right and click 'log in'.

3. then you hit 'return' (after you logged in).

4. Now the comment box shows your google/blogger account name.

Voila!
